about

The first single off the upcoming album, The Madness Inside, The Clod has a throwback sound with haunting guitar riffs, harmonica and vocals.

lyrics

I got a problem with my clarity
I got a load of insecurity
My thoughts are like an omelet in a blender
My nerves are being run through the shredder
So I act like you're not bothering me
You act all ignorant I don't disagree
But inside I feel the boiler is a fixin' to explode and then there's the mortal sin I'm thinkin'
I think I'll sit right there and focus on some drinkin'
instead of dreaming of you're well deserved lickin'
Why won't the water run off down my back
Why do I feel like I'm under attack
Am I the dope of the century
You don't mean a damn thing to me

Yet I smile, and I nod, and agree like a clod
Then the shame starts all over again

Let live is my philosophy
But when your uninvited company
Is spouting like a fountain of idiotic rhetoric
I shut my mouth but later I regret it
There used to be a special time
When I'd object of you'd cross the line
But now, I act, as though I was a statue, I'm a waxy, muted figure staring at you
But inside I feel the boiler is a fixin', to unleash on you a well deserved whippin'
Why won't the water run off down my back
Why do I feel like I'm under attack
Am I the dope of the century
You don't mean a damn thing to me

I am wired to torment myself every day
Never know of an alternate way
Could do Yoga, Tai Chi, and eat only greens
But at the end of the day I'm still me
It's a madness inside that I've know since I was a child
And it burns even hotter today
I'm so sick of myself and my consternated ways
Every day is all dread and dismay
